Insights into the CEW Beauty Awards 2025

On Wednesday, the 2025 CEW Beauty Awards began with a heartfelt message from the awards initiator, CEW President Carlotta Jacobson.

“The idea [for the awards] “was simple and still relevant today: to celebrate the best of you – not just the products, but also the people, the creators and the work behind them,” said Jacobson, who has held the role of CEW president since 1999 and will be named chairman of the industry organization’s board in January. Longtime beauty veteran Elana Drell Szyfer will succeed Jacobson as president.

“The Beauty Awards was the first program I created when I joined the board and this is the last time I stand here [on stage] as president. This program has meant more to me than I can express. Thank you everyone,” Jacobson continued.

The spirit of Jacobson’s sentiments continued throughout the ceremony, hosted by comedian and actress Lynne Koplitz and meant to honor the people and products that are driving the beauty industry forward. The event took place at New York’s Hilton Midtown Hotel.

Honorees included Danessa Myricks and Mario Dedivanovic, whose eponymous makeup brands received the Indie Makeup/Skin Care Product Award; Prada Beauty, whose Prada Balm won the Lip Treatment Award, and Nutrafol, which won the Wellness Award for its Clear Skin Nutraceutical supplement.

“Our [Lightwork VI Freedom Palette] was such a labor of love; “We want people to feel free living in their own skin, and this palette translates that into a product,” said Myricks as she accepted the award for the customizable eyeshadow palette.
